As a new member of the TeNo Family I learn a lot about the company at the moment. So I thought, it would be interesting for you all to learn a bit about TeNo’s tradition too.
TeNo´s family roots can be traced back to 1922. At those days Joseph Heinz, a young silversmith in the black forest founded his own little workshop first specialized in silver cutlery and some years later he added to his portfolio fine silver jewellery. His son Peter Heinz became in the 60´s a master goldsmith and worked at those days in the development department for a leading jewellery company in Pforzheim which is the most famous town for jewellery in Germany. Together with his wife Annelie Heinz, who also worked as an goldsmith specialised on handcrafted and solid jewellery chains made out of gold, he took over in 1982 a company focusing its production on jewellery watch cases for precious metals and also small technical parts used to supply the German watch manufacturers.
Since then the emphasis was placed on the traditional art of watch making and jewellery but always in combination with innovative techniques and modern CNC machines. In 1994 the actual operating company Heinz Schwarz GmbH came into place when Annelie and Peter Heinz together with their son Jürgen bought over this international operating watch company.
In 1999 the time was right for a generation change. Jürgen Heinz together with his sister Stefanie and the Industrial Designer Eberhard Hagmann developed the todays company profile. Since then the basic philosophy is “ Innovation meets Tradition“. Later in 1981 he founded his own Design Company IDEA which is today a team with 12 very creative and innovative designers. Besides many industrial designs like house and table ware for which IDEA achieved many design awards like design plus, good industrial form, good Design award Chicago etc. the Idea team specialized more and more in designs for jewellery and watches.
Since the launch of TeNo in the year 1999 the company achieved international reputation for its innovative products and its futuristic concept.

Florian, I find the TeNo tradition very interesting. I didn’t realise it started in 1922. The family Heinz (+ Felix ofcourse) is a very good team! :-)
