Some visitors, no comments

Florian - Monday, February 16 2009

Yes, sometimes I also look on my sitemeter and I am happy to see that the numbers of visitors is getting up. Although, I’ve never checked where my visitors are from or what keyword they tiped into google, so I don’t know if a kindergarten bully or a former secret love of mine visited this blog. ;-)

But I always feel the same way like this blogger:

Now, if only I could get these people to COMMENT!
What do they think, that I give this info out for free!?! LOL!

But I have to admit I’m getting more comments than I used to. :-)

Mr. Gay Switzerland wears TeNo

Florian - Monday, February 16 2009

Finaly after 4 years, Switzerland ellected a new Mr. Gay again at the end of last year and Teno was sponsor. The audience could adore different TeNo jewelry like colliers, bracelets, necklaces and watches. On the picture above you can see a YuKoN bracelet on his arm and a DyKon collier on his neck.

After a few selection rounds only 2 candidates were left: Tobias Dickenmann (from Thurgo where our bureau in Switzerland is) and the 23 years old Ricco Rimus Müller from Graubünden, who got voted most beautiful gay in Switzerland. At least for this year. ;-)

The proud first third placed recieved a watch, a collier and a YuKoN bracelet from TeNo. After being elected first Ricco said: “I am speechless and anxious about the future and what will happen.” in an interview with a sign language interpreter. Ricco is from birth on deaf. But dispite this fact he is determined to strengthen the rights and interests of the gay community in Switzerland. Especialy this year, because the Europride will come to Zurich and the eyes of the gay and lesbian world will be on Switzerlands capital.

The TeNo family wishes you a successful and exiting year 2009!

Inhorgenta 2009: Optimism and ideas

Juergen - Sunday, February 15 2009

logoinhorgenta2009

Jewelry and watch manufacturers to present remarkable products at inhorgenta europe / despite the economical crisis there is optimism among the exhibitors and visitors alike. That’s the titel of a press report of the Inhorgenta 2009. And all I can say to that is: Right! – further more the article says:

Gold or silver? Plain or playful? Restrained or over-dimensional? February is the month when the industry finds out which watch and jewelry creations will be “in” for summer/fall 2009. The movers and shakers of the international jewelry and watch industry will return to Munich to the inhorgenta europe, the largest trade fair for jewelry, watches, pearls, gemstones, and technology in the EU. An exhibitor poll held by the exposition management among well-known brands provides a small taste of what to expect at the upcoming inhorgenta europe and the new trends for the season.

That reminds me of a comment on our charity: japanese: crisis= Carefull, new chance. I really liked that. Apperently the other exhibitors fortunately think alike.

In regards to the level of interest expressed by exhibitors the crisis also does not have too much impact.

Well then -  let’s celebrate Inhorgenta! :-)

The glas billardtable

billard

Juergen posted a few days ago in the german TeNo-Blog about a billard table made of glas. This would be nice for our billard team. But as Jürgen asked I’m also wondering if it is even possible to play billard on that table without ruining it? ;-) Or maybe someday they can combine it with the digital billard trainer.

A question of trend

Juergen - Friday, February 13 2009

According to a newsletter I read, the new trend in fashion and jewelry is individual and extravagant. The jewels and accessories have developed from statussymbol to a personal identification item. That’s what was highly visible at the Trendshow 09 in Pforzheim.

That’s another reason for us to look forward to the Inhorgenta 2009. We’re right in trend with our jewelry collection. I’m especially exited about the presentation of our new line TeNo personal. Jewelry just can’t get more personal, more on this in a few days.

The newsletter also said the designer moved away from light contrasts and pastellcolors to strong contrasts like black and white, created by white gold and  onyx or natural rubber.

Actually this isn’t new to TeNo. Daring but harmonical contrasts are used by our designers since a long time, also the black and white contrast before they said it is a trend. But what does “trend” mean anyway? Trend is just whats good and is getting bought.

Or what do you think? What does trend mean to you?

Grand theft jewelry

Florian - Thursday, February 12 2009

Reports about jewelry heists are around all the time, but the fewest are about major thefts, like this one.

Now there is a movie about one of the biggest jewelry heists in  history. “The Hessen Affair” is about the theft that took place in Germany 1945 when the crown jewels of Germany were stolen by two american officers. To make the plot a little more complex, princess Sophie finds out that her brother was involved in the heist as well and will get married to the Queen of England. But to get a clear picture of the story, I suggest you watch the hole movie. ;-)

The film is already out in Europe and will be premier in the US this summer. Here – for a first impression – the trailer.

Keep your jewelry safe

Florian - Tuesday, February 10 2009

72set-yuma-de-luxx_white-wwwI bet everyone who likes jewelry wants to keep it safe when not wearing it. But nowadays, it won’t be enough to put it in your nightstand or in a drawer. So it’s good news that there is a safe, specialized on jewelry, which is not only safe but also good looking. And it has drawers designed to keep jewelry. So when you have precious jewelry like TeNo de luxx to put away you might want to have one of these safes at home. Since they come in many different coulors, I’m sure you find one which blends in with the rest of your room as well. ;-)

Don’t divorce my parents!

Florian - Monday, February 9 2009

Apparently, same-sex marriage is still (!) a highly discussed topic in the US. And since in California Proposal 8 is about to pass, one blog postet the video below.

Im still not sure what exactly this proposition is, but as far as I know it would ban same-sex marriage. And that most people voted “Yes”. Sad but true. I went through a couple of articles and it seems that the conflict ended up in the question, if the 1st Amendment (freedom of free speech and religion) would be violated or not (if it is a freedom then how would it be violated, but okay).

If you want to read more you can do so here, though I thought that some articles are not very thought-out, otherwise just watch the video. ;-)

“Fidelity”: Don’t Divorce… from Courage Campaign on Vimeo.

And since TeNo thinks that everyone has the right to marry however he or she loves, our partnership rings are for same-sex couples just as they are for traditional married couples, because love is for everyone.
