It was beautiful and sunny day which my husband, my daughter Jana and me used to make a trip to Cologne. Jana – who recently became the author of the spanish TeNo Blog – finally wanted to visit a TeNo store, plus there was the run of colors which also is a big event and worthwhile. So we started with a little shopping spree at the Rheincenter and showed Jana the TeNo store.
The shop assistants welcomed us friendly as always and were happy, even if they couldn´t be at the run of colors. But someone has to hold the position. ;-)
Then we set out for the Tanzbrunnen. We took the advice of store chef Adriane Friedrich, and left our car at Weiden and the train to the city, because not only was there the run of colors that day but also the gamescom. Finding a parking space would have been impossible. In the commuter train i received a SMS from Jürgen, who said that they are at the Tanzbrunnen and that we have to go across the bridge. If he didn´t send me that message, we would have searched for along time on the big area. I thought we just have to follow the TeNo commercials – TeNo was sponsor of the run of colors – but then we could have gone in every direction, since TeNo was everywhere. Even outside of the area – people, people, people and each of them with TeNo bags. :-)
Thanks to the SMS we found the TeNo group right away in tat the center of the Tanzbrunnen:
In the team and racing for TeNo Jürgen Milski, on the picture below with Jürgen Heinz and Adriane Friedrich:
Notice: TeNo goes both ways. Or something like that. ;-) Which should mean that TeNo design jewelry is not only unisex and for men and women, but also the TeNo banners are versatile and can be seen from the back and form the front:
And now some impressions of the TeNo Team before the start. Runners of the TeNo store cologne:
TeNo – a family business with tradition and with jewelry for generations. Here is a nice pictures with the titel: Old and young, or: forever blond. :-) It shows the lovely mother of Adriane Friedrich, with 77 years still healthy and the young Lucy from the TeNo store cologne.
And here is a picture with great symbolic. I think its great when people -not only the TeNo team, but also on the hole area – old and young, men and women, hetero and homosexual, democratic and republican voters, how 1000 people gathered together, to demonstrate solidarity with HIV-infected people, show tolerance and support the Aids foundation cologne, Oh yes, not only humans but also dogs were there, Here you can see Felix and ByRoN.
Only hald an hour left until the race starts. That means stretching, stretching and warming up…
Here you can see everyone who was recing at the run of colors for TeNo. Only Jürgen, didn´t run since he had to sell bananas this day. But somehow he managed to sneak into the picture. ;-)
And here all active runners, shortly before the race started.
And with lots of positive energy:
The proof that there were A LOT of people there that day:
Pictures from the start with many yellow ballons, which were set free into the sky to show solidarity and give the sign to start the run:
While the runners had a 5-10 km run ahead of them, those who didn´t take part started to prepare the banana stand, since at the finish line all the runners got drinks and fruits, like kiwis and in this case TeNo bananas – a very special culture! *g*
Plus all the women got a sunflower from TeNo at the finish line.
Then they arrived – the runners crossed the finishing line.
Jürgen Milski finished first, however we don´t have picture of him crossing the finishing line, since we didn´t have our cameras ready that fast. :-) Or maybe she was first?
Felix and Patrick – happily running the last few meters:
They also made it:
Matching the motto run of colors, some poeple were wearing colorful costumes. And I was wondering how they could run 5 km in that. Respect! Must be the training from carnecal.
At the TeNo bananastand everyone was welcomed and admired. Everybody made it and some very exhausted. But all in all most of the runners were still pretty fit. Here are some impressions of our runners.
Cathrin , selecting a refreshment
And finally Jürgen Milski and Jürgen Heinz signed the TeNo jersey. This jersey will be purchased by auction. The money will also go to the aids foundation of cologne.
It was a truly beautiful day. This way, charity and marketing are fun. Thanks to all, who took part, we are really proud of you! And also thanks that we could be there. And here you can see who the most beautiful town at the Rhine presents itself on our way back to the Deutzer trainstation:
This only a selection of pictures. You can see all of them and in higher resolution here at on FlickR, where you can watch them if you like.
