Diamonds: all in white

Important for the quality of a diamond is – beside the size, the grinding and the purity -the color or let’s say: the quality of its white color, whereas with white actually transparent is meant. The Gemologican Institute of America (GIA) distinguishs the transparancy of diamonds with the help of a scale from D until Z. D is the highest degree, delicious silver.

The alphabetical classification is the old system of judging diamonds, probably each of you heard about it before. There the best quality is called River and describes diamond in delicious white, which don’t fluoresce in day light. This ability have for example the stones from deposits in rivers, that’s why they’re named that way. Second are the diamonds in fine silver which are branded as Top Wesselton. All diamonds that are used in TeNo jewelry belong to this category.  So let’s take a closer look right away:

Diamonds of the third degree (white) are called Wesselton. This term goes back to the Wessolton-Mines in South Africa. These again was named after J.J. Wessels Sen., the owner  of the Benaaudheidfontein-Farm, who discovered in 1890 diamonds on his property.

The jewels that have an already yellowish shimmer belong to the quality degree Top Crystal and stand for slightly tinted white. The two next categories are named Top Cape and Cape. They include tinted, slightly yellowish diamonds and they were found at the Cape of Good Hope (therefore cape). Right at the end of the scale the colors Light Yellow and Yellow are found and differ clearly from spotless white diamonds.

The diamonds of the lower quality degree must not be taken for Fancy Diamond. Those are colored represents which are due to their rarity in great demand. But more about this at a later point…

Diamonds: size isn’t everything

Teresa - Wednesday, April 21 2010

In American romantic movies and series diamonds in engagement rings often play an importan role. The bigger the jewel the greater the love, that’s what we’re told subliminal. But just like with so many other things in life, the size alone isn’t what matters, it’s the quality. For diamonds four criteria are used, known as the 4Cs: Carat, Color, Clarity and Cut. Carat thereby stands for the size, because you certainly can’t neglect it totally. But it isn’t the same as the carat amount in gold which states the clarity. The term carat comes from the greek term for the carob (keratio) whose seeds were used in the past to define the weight of a jewel, due to the carob seeds even weight. One seed usually weights 0.2 gram, that’s why today 0,2 gram is exactly 1 ct.

ShiKou doesn’t rust.

ShiKou09_3

“Over five years on the market and still the ShiKou collection from TeNo is not rusting.”-so a german magazine. We can explain that they’re right for sure. Even in 25 years ShiKou is not going to rust. The design is ageless and still modern tomorrow, just like everything from TeNo ShiKou is made to outlast time. The materials-satined stainless steel and robuts rubber, sometimes with sparkling diamonds or soft gold-don’t rust in general. ;-) The speciale clasp and the in the bracelet integrated steel wire ensure that the bracelet is absolutely stable. ShiKou can sustain a lot. Thanks to this technique you won’t loose ShiKou when you close it properly and you could really only destroy it under the use of great force. You can’t think of TeNo without the ShiKou collection anymore and it’s going to be a main part of TeNo for many more years. And of course it is not going to rust, because none of the TeNo jewelry pieces is ever going to rust. Nor in the transferential meaning . :-)

Teresa - Friday, October 2 2009

women

We don’t want to say a lot, but show a lot: The new necklace of our new line TeNo endless. Something really different and still typical TeNo.

And this is the first imagetext for our new piece of jewelry. Hopefully women all over the world like it as much as we do. This necklace is after our successfull lines YuKoN and ShiKou the start of a brand new TeNo line with which we tend to do a lot.  Simply TeNo “endless”.

Premiere for something bigger

TeNo endless-the new line for women

Airily intertwined links of satin stainless steel and velvet black, soft rubber are united in thrilling jewelry. Full of contrast they flow together. High-quality materials of soft yellow or rosé gold provide a stylish accent. Restrained yet striking. Typical TeNo understatement. For women who like big jewelry but not bling. Large yet not overpowering. Light yet unmistakable. Elegantly simple yet expressive this chain lends that something special to each outfit. Jewelry without beginning or end, that is TeNo endless, the new feminine line from TeNo. Made in Germany.

TeNo in Australia

In 2005 the Australian Rob Scanlan started with the distribution of our designer jewelry in New Zealand and Australia. The start wasn’t easy, but Rob and his team believed in the success of our modern jewlelry especially due to the high quality and the reputation of “Made in Germany” on their continent. This year the exhibition was really successful for TeNo. A lot of new customers living in the higher classes ordered TeNo products. General Manager Stephan Brown sent me some pictures of TeNos presentation on the exhibition. TeNo was integrated in the brand new exhibition booth of Rob Scanlan&Co Pty Ltd. .

By the way, Rob Scanlan visited us with his General Manager Stephen Brown in Germany and Stephan then expressed his impressions in a great article which we published on teno-blog.com. We are really excited that TeNo is now also becoming more and more successful in New Zealand and Australia. I hope we’ll get some pictures of the next exhibition showing the whole team of Rob Scanlan. :-)

Wedding ring photographies

Florian - Tuesday, December 16 2008

Here is a blog that specialiced on the photography of wedding rings. I think, our partnership rings would also look very good in such artistic scenes. Sometimes you just can’t imagine the photo untill it’s done. But I bet that our rings , as simple as they are, would look nice as they fit in many different portrayals.
