Five years TeNo online

Juergen - Sunday, March 22 2009

2009 is the year of anniversaries – in september we celebrate the birthday of the brand TeNo which turned 10. And currently in march we can celebrate 5 years TeNo online. In 2004 we launched the website TeNo.de, which ist by now 5 years young. Back than it was developed with one aim, to reflect our clear and pure design.

True to the maxim: less is more. The focus was put on a searchengine optimized site and getting a look at our inventory management.

The website has served us well the last years and is also well represented on the searchengines, even though our site was a little bit neglected the last few years in terms of keeping it up to date.

But never the less it is time after all these years for something new. Times change and the possibilities of websites have developed and so did TeNo. Soon there will be a relaunch – and we are all looking forwards to that.

Relaunch of the TeNo website

Juergen - Saturday, March 14 2009

Soon we will relaunch the TeNo website. The rather simple and “straight forward” style will be changed into a more dynamic and elegant look. Non of the less we will stick to our basic principles and keep up the objectiveness. Wait and see …

TeNo-Blog visitors

Florian - Thursday, February 19 2009

A few days ago I blogged about visitors who don’t leave a comment. In a related comment to the post I was asked about my readers and where they come from.

And via Sitemeter it’s possible to “stalk” people. ;-) So here we go: I start with the different countries, because somehow I think that’s the most interesting part. Most readers 58% are from Germany which is not that big of a suprise, although we have a seperate german blog as well. About  12% are from the United States which is good because our goal is to reach international readers. Another 10% are from France and 8% from Spain. Those are just the countries where most people are from. There is also a smaller share of visitors from the Uk, Sweden, the Netherlands and Canada.

Here is a world map to picturize where our visitors come from. You can still see pretty clear that most of them are from Europe. But those from Ottawa, Virginia or California are also more than welcome. :-)

And another thing that was very suprising in a good way, that the visitors stayed on the TeNo-Blog for about 5:35 minutes. Now, it would be perfect if we got lots and lots of comments of all the visitors. ;-)

TeNo twitter

twitter_logo

Nice idea: wishing a Happy New Year via twitter. :-) A really good idea, and as you can see, he received a hole lot of New Year wishes.

TeNo is also twittering now. We are new but we’re giving it a try and are curious about the results.

For those who want to follow us you can do so here. We are twittering in german and english, depending  on the occasion. So it’s worth checking both, twitter and the TeNo-Blog for the latest posts and news. :-)

Annual stocktaking checked

Felix - Friday, January 9 2009

It’s finally done.  Our annual stocktaking is complete.  We picked the monday right before epiphany. Because of the YuKoN elements, our stockkeeping unit has been higher since the last 2 years. We had a total count of  147680 pieces at 21966 units.  However, who thinks that TeNo has a total collection of watches and jewelry of 21966 is wrong. You have to keep in mind  that every of the about 40 possible ring seizes is a unit for itself. It took 12 persons exactly one working day, so every employee counted and checked 1830,5 pieces in average. After we finished, we had to chart the results manually and than enter them into our inventory control.  After that we could do the inventory evaluation. And now we can continue with our every day routine,  start taking assignments, producing and deliver.

New year, new server, new WP-version

Florian - Tuesday, January 6 2009

Four days have passed now since we moved to our new server. There might be some minor problems here and there, but in general everything works just fine. We’d like to thank all who took part in moving the TeNo-Blog, also in the name of Jürgen and Felix.

The TeNo-Blog has now its own server using WP 2.7 as its engine. The templates still have to get adjusted and modernised but we’ll get to that soon. :-) There are lots of new and interesting posts upcomming so stay tuned.

For all who have subscribed to our RSS-Feed, I’d like to ask to subscribe to our new RSS-Feed now since the old one won’t work anymore. Thank you.

Package from heaven ;-)

Stef - Saturday, December 6 2008

In Germany we celebrate Santa Claus at the 6th of december. Therefore Monika and Dieter, jewelers from Freiburg sent a very nice package to our headquarter in Pforzheim were we also work on saturday at the moment to answer all the calls of our jewelers for it’s christmas time, the best season for selling jewelry. :-)

The package full of the best chocolate and many nice little presents was really a great surprise. Obviously our CEO Jürgen is an impatient character – he couldn’t wait opening the presents until monday. ;-)

So I thought it would be good to blog this, so that all other collegues on monday at least have some nice pictures of this lovely presents for I’m afraid that Jürgen will have eaten already all the delicious things. ;-)) (more …)

The dog jewelry museum calendar and the TeNo Fitness-Manager ;-)

Biggi - Saturday, December 6 2008

The technorati-search-feed “jewelry” took me to this posting concerning the dog jewelry museum calendar. I must confess that I don’t like this calendar very much. But this ones are very nice. And for all who think – what the hell has that posting to do with TeNo and its jewelry – well, I write it for our CEO Jürgen, cause I’m quiet sure that he’ll like that blog. After all he is the greatest fan of dogs I know and in addition it’s a good opportunity to introduce the TeNo fitness manager to our english blog readers.

Proudly present: ByRoN – the real jewel of the TeNo family :-)

Introducing TeNo´s Tradition

Florian - Monday, December 1 2008

As a new member of the TeNo Family I learn a lot about the company at the moment. So I thought, it would be interesting for  you all to learn a bit about TeNo’s tradition too.

TeNo´s family roots can be traced back to 1922. At those days Joseph Heinz, a young silversmith in the black forest founded his own little workshop first specialized in silver cutlery and some years later he added to his portfolio fine silver jewellery. His son Peter Heinz became in the 60´s a master goldsmith and worked at those days in the development department for a leading jewellery company in Pforzheim which is the most famous town for jewellery in Germany. Together with his wife Annelie Heinz, who also worked as an goldsmith specialised on handcrafted and solid jewellery chains made out of gold, he took over in 1982 a company focusing its production on jewellery watch cases for precious metals and also small technical parts used to supply the German watch manufacturers.
