New in our blogroll: Swiss Miss

Teresa - Thursday, March 18 2010

We’d like to welcome a new blog in our blogroll. Swiss Miss is a design blog run by Tina Roth Eisenberg who originally comes from Switzerland but now lives in Brooklyn, NY. TimesOnline chose Swiss Miss to be number 14 of the 50 world’s best design blogs and it’s described as a blog about “unique ideas and products picked by a Swiss graphic designer living in New York.” It has great ideas and we think you should definitely take a look at it.

So here we go!

The worlds most rare diamonds

Florian - Tuesday, May 19 2009

On this list you can finds the top t10 pink diamonds, which are also the worlds most rare ones. The Darya-i-Nur Diamond. It comes from a mine in the Kimberly region in West-Austrailia, which produces over 95% of the worlds supply. Further more you can find´9 more pink diamonds in tha list with names like “Steinmetz” or “Pink Sunrise”. Personally, I think that it’s not a matter of how rare or big the diamond is, but how they are worked into the design. ;-)

Five years TeNo online

Juergen - Sunday, March 22 2009

2009 is the year of anniversaries – in september we celebrate the birthday of the brand TeNo which turned 10. And currently in march we can celebrate 5 years TeNo online. In 2004 we launched the website TeNo.de, which ist by now 5 years young. Back than it was developed with one aim, to reflect our clear and pure design.

True to the maxim: less is more. The focus was put on a searchengine optimized site and getting a look at our inventory management.

The website has served us well the last years and is also well represented on the searchengines, even though our site was a little bit neglected the last few years in terms of keeping it up to date.

But never the less it is time after all these years for something new. Times change and the possibilities of websites have developed and so did TeNo. Soon there will be a relaunch – and we are all looking forwards to that.

The stainless steel pendants with ceramic inlays are just a taste of the news in our TeNo basix line which we will present at the jewelry exhibition Inhorgenta at february the 20th. As always during the beginning of a new year, we’re busy finishing the showcase  of our new watches and jewelry of 2009. But despite the exhausting preperations, we’re still looking forward to the Inhorgenta this year. We’re not only presenting new jewelry editions like “TeNo personal”, but also a new generation of cabinets and thus the new TeNo shop in shop system.

I’m sure that this years exhibition will be very interesting for TeNo and our future development.

Finally in our blogroll: Yanko Design

Florian - Tuesday, January 27 2009

As some of you may have noticed, I sometimes referred to a certain page when I blogged about new and cool designs.  So I think it’s time to take this site, Yanko Design – From Beyond Function, into our blogroll.

ydesign

It offers the latest and very innovative designs every day. Okay maybe  you won’t be able to purchase most of them but there’s nothing wrong with fantasising. However, I admit that I sometimes regret that our technology isn’t that far yet . :-)

New in our blogroll: Trashbag Aesthetics

Biggi - Wednesday, January 21 2009

Wow – I found this magazine and felt dazzled. Not at all because of the colours but also because of the stories and the interesting brands.

trashbag

Reading the about-page brought about subscribing the feed. So interesting and so inspiring for someone like me who lives in a very small town. “Where the ladies run NYC” – yeah – that’s my site! :-) On the site is to be read:

TrashBagAesthetics.com is a womens lifestyle online magazine dedicated to sneaker, fashion, trends & the everyday social blunder that plagues our daily routine. And while we still continue to cultivate thousands of female readers of all age ranges, we continue to provide the daily news on what’s going down in the streets of NYC – without all of the shameless bragging, repeated news, and everything that leads to the same boring “we’ve done seen that before” material that has spammed the web. Don’t get it twisted…we’ve been doing this since 2006! So sit back, relax & welcome to our family!

Perhaps this text appealed to me also because of the friendly welcome to this very special family. Perhaps because in our company we also call us TeNo family. :)

Anyway – there is so many to read and so many to discover on this site.  I’m anxious to discover NYC and it’s stylish places, brands and shops. I hope that they’ll detect the TeNo Store in Soho some day too. It would be nice to be among the favorite brands. :-)

Watches and jewelry: christmas gifts – unisex pendants

Juergen - Saturday, December 13 2008

Our collections and company has grown a lot after ten years of existance. Next years september it’s time for an anniversary. ;-) Since we haven’t introduced any pendants in our “christmas gift” series so far, I will do so now. First I thought about making four seperate posts about four different pendants. But now I’ll present four in one post, to emphasize the big variety of our collections. Even if I could post one pendant a day until Christmas, I decided it would be best to choose four of our “classics” , unisex of course. (more …)

Original vs. replicas and fakes

Florian - Tuesday, December 2 2008

Already some years ago TeNo celebrated the extremely successful lifespan of our “Three-Quadrate Design”. Whether on rings, pendants, watches or the leather accessories of TeNo – the Three-Quadrate Design, a creation from the house of TeNo, has become synonymous with the label and today the collection can no longer be imagined without it. The success and the versatility of the current as well as new TeNo pieces of jewellery prove how innovative and long-lasting design can be, how captivating these 3 x 4 corners are. Pieces from the collection in the typical TeNo Three-Quadrate Design are ideal to mix and match. Attractively styled pieces of jewellery from burnished high-grade steel meet with different materials such as high-tech ceramics, wood, gold or mother-of-pearl.  This design has become a trademark of TeNo – often copied, but never equalled.

Our design came to my mind, when I read this blog-posting. When a company grows and becomes bigger, more and more people become aware of their products. Unfortunately, this has also negative consequences. For some people are starting to reproduce these products, only cheaper – replicas and fakes. TeNo also is one of these companies whose products are being faked. However, this has also a positive side in an ironic kind of  way. It shows that TeNo is famous enough to get reproduced by others. Only good designs have replicas. :-)

Besides, we believe that there are still enough people who are willing to invest a little more money for much better quallity.

Number of the week: 106.800

Juergen - Sunday, April 13 2008

Back from the fair Baselworld in Switzerland I read the official final report from the exhibition management. While reading I had the idea for a new category:Number of the week!

I’m anxious to know how many weeks we’ll find interesting numbers that concern watches, jewlery and design. Today we start with the number 106.800.

“BASELWORLD 2008 breaks all records
Another record year: BASELWORLD 2008 closed its doors today after eight extremely successful days. The 2,087 exhibiting companies from 45 countries were thrilled at the record figure of 106,800 visitors (up 5%) to the Show from around the world. The World Watch and Jewellery Show exceeded the highest expectations.”

The official final report can be downloaded here.

about: discover your desire…

Juergen - Saturday, October 6 2007

when we launched TeNo in 1999 we started to run ads for our design jewelry with the slogan “more than steel can say”. Two years ago our creative team worked out a new slogan: discover your desire… But what is it about ? Is there any meaning behind ? (more …)
