Watches & Jewelry care tips: Taking care of pearls

Juergen - Thursday, August 20 2009

Sometimes we receive emails from our costumers with different questions about the care of their TeNo jewelry and watches. We´ve been thinking about posting these questions in our blog and this way make them available to our blogreaders as well. But sometimes it takes a while from an idea to the realization. ;-) And today we will start with a question about taking care of pearls, which we received during the holidays:

Dear  Sir or Madam,

A few weeks ago, I got a great jewelry set from you as a gift with beautiful grey – blue pearls. I like them so much that I want to keep them for a long time. Do I have to take special care and grease them?

Thank you for your response

Our  tips for taking care of your pearls:

Try to avoid the contact with dish- or saltwater as well as any chemicals like chlorine. Also avoid hairspray perfume and any cosmetic products since they can harm the natural shine of your pearls. So only put on your pearl jewelry when done putting makeup on. We recommend to clean your pearls on a regular basis with a soft tissue. Any kinds of fat, even natural skinfat and sweat can change the natural color of the pearls on the surface. So never clean your jewelry with cremes and fats. Pearls – and other kinds of jewelry should never be stored in wet or moist places

Squares – that’s our theme

Biggi - Friday, July 17 2009

I only read squares in my feed reader and thought – that must be a posting recording to TeNo. But – far from it. Bruce writes about something else, but not about TeNo squares.

Nevertheless – three square design is typically TeNo. And I like pocket squares too.  For me they are a kind of jewelry, accessories with the special flair. Sure cause they are a little bit rare today.

Multifunctional high heels

Biggi - Friday, July 17 2009

Here they think about which colour high heels has to have. And they add some more “philosphical” thoughts:

Go with everything. Classic shape. Make your legs longer. Totally neon friendly. Need we say more?

No, you needn’t. But we can add one idea for all women who are afraid to break their legs on high heels. You needn’t abstain from buying them. There is another possibility: You can use them as a decorative rack for your jewelry.

And for those people who don’t like high heels, could this be an alternative idea to keep their jewelry.

The effect of stainless steel

Florian - Thursday, July 16 2009

Apparently, stainless steel jewelry can attract attention more than other kinds of jewelry. For example as described here, the effect of stainless steel on women. First I thought that they mean that men wearing this kind of jewelry attract women, but when reading the article you notice that they mean it elsewise.

With attraction, they  mean that women begin to discover that stainless steel is a very good option for them instead of silver for example. So if a man buys them stainless steel jewelry for special occasions like christmas or their birthdays it might impress them. In my mind, this might be a good side effect, but the most important that the jewelry looks good on you. So maybe if the man wears good looking stainless steel jewelry himself, it impresses the other gender as well. ;-) And for both, men and women, you can find here a big variety of different jewelry.

By now, I refered quite a few times to this jewelry and fashion blog, for example in the mother’s day 2009 post. And now it is time we welcome it to our blogroll.

When you scroll through this blog you will soon notice that thie articles appearing each day are usually long and great in numbers. This way, there you can find an article which interests you, almost every day. The topics reach from skin treatments to clothing style to picking the piece of jewelry which matches you. The last one would be most interesting for our blog.  As today, one article is about picking the right diamond earrings.

Welcome, fashion and jewelry-blog in our blogroll. :-)

Destinctive design for men

Florian - Tuesday, March 10 2009

0154202elements

Recently we expanded our collection for men with some new high quality pieces of jewelry.

Pure stainless steel with deep milled slots or the typical TeNo ceramic inlays. A new special feature for this collection is that it does not have the regular closing on the natural rubber band but the jewelry piece itself is the closing. This way you can keep the necklace closing from sliding to the front. This new closing system is an original invention of the company Joerg Heinz. It’s high quality and very special in looks and functuality. As you could guess from the name, the company Joerg Heinz is related to us. However, even without the special relationship we would have gladly used this new closing system since it matches the TeNo style perfectly.

And by the way, this is not intended to be an addition to YuKoN but a new jewelry collection. :-)
